Hubble v25.1 Release Notes
This topic describes the new features, enhancements, and resolved issues for Hubble v25.1, released in February, 2025.
Upcoming Features and Enhancements in Hubble for 2025
The Hubble Version 25.1 release introduces significant new features and enhancements, laying the groundwork for future developments throughout 2025.
Hubble Replication with Kafka
With the end of life of the Qlik to Actian Vector connector, a new enterprise connector leveraging Kafka has been introduced to stream changes into the Actian Vector DB.
Hubble Integration with insightsoftware Platform
The Hubble Desktop and Web application will integrate with the insightsoftware Platform, allowing customers a full SSO experience for both Desktop and Web. Customers will be able to manage licenses from a central location for all insightsoftware products connected to the platform, and license keys will be automated.
New Hubble Web User Interface and Experience
The Hubble Web User Experience is being rebuilt to provide a new user experience and ensure continued support. The 25.1 release introduces a new feature toggle that allows users to preview the new functionality and provide feedback as it is built out. These improvements will continue incrementally throughout 2025.
New Features and Enhancements
The following table outlines the new features and enhancements included in Hubble Version 25.1.
| Title | Description |
|---|---|
SSL Certificate Requirement |
Starting from version 24.3, all users are required to have a valid SSL certificate set up on the Application Server to enable encrypted communication between services. Without a valid certificate, a secure connection cannot be established between the browser and the web application, and users will not be able to generate PDFs. |
Alignment of Edit/Preview Functionality |
Previously, enabling the Edit/Preview option still directed users to the old Hubble workspace. Now, the functionality aligns with the selection: if off, users go to the old workspace; if on, the new workspace is used. |
"Try the New Hubble" Toggle |
The Edit/Preview option is now replaced by the Try the new Hubble toggle, allowing users to switch between the new and old Hubble UIs for the workspace. If enabled, the new Hubble UI is used; if off, the old workspace is available. |
Encryption Library Update |
The encryption library has been updated to ensure continued support. |
Date Filter Validation |
If the "From" date is later than the "To" date, the filter will be highlighted in red, indicating an issue before running the report. |
Enhanced Password Policy |
A new string "P4ssw0rD" has been added to the dictionary set of passwords, and a new checkbox "Must contain special character" has been introduced in password policy options to enhance security. From version 25.1 onwards, all passwords will be enforced to be case-sensitive, and the policy setting Is case-sensitive will be set to true and disabled, ensuring it cannot be changed. This change is necessary to correctly support the hashing of passwords, enhancing overall security. Users may need to reset their passwords until they become familiar with the case-sensitive requirement. |
Virtual Views Import Update |
Virtual Views can now be exported from a repository and imported into a new repository while maintaining the original creator, allowing that user to continue editing the Virtual View. |
Distribution Permissions |

Resolved Issues
The following table contains all the fixes completed in the 25.1 release.
| Jira Reference | Description |
|---|---|
Multitenant Oracle Script Fix |
The issue causing the script to fail due to the new multitenant Oracle functionality has been addressed, and the script now works on multitenant Oracle databases. |
Web Filters and Selectors Update |
Web filters now allow users to enter text for filtering, while selectors restrict users to choosing from the drop-down list. |
File Replacement Dialog Fix |
The issue where canceling the file replacement action returned an error has been resolved. The action is now correctly canceled. |
Case-Sensitive Password Enforcement |
In version 25.1, all passwords will be case-sensitive by default, and the "Is case-sensitive" policy setting will be set to true and disabled to prevent changes. This may result in more users needing to reset their passwords upon login after the upgrade. If this setting was already enabled, there will be no impact. |
Web Reporting Period Fix |
The From period can now be set before the To period. Running the report with a To period greater than the From period will reset the filters before execution. A future update will add a warning for this scenario. |
Performance Improvement for Deleting Leavers |
A new index has been added to enhance the performance of deleting/removing leavers. Customers with large data sets will see improvements of over 50%. |
User Sharing Fix |
Users can now be shared individually even if they are part of a shared group. |
Network Disconnection Handling |
In the Planning Activities form, if the session is disconnected from the network, the user is now prompted with a connection status screen to re-connect and recover the application. |
File Replacement Prompt |
Users are now given a prompt to either replace the file or cancel the copy. |
Substring Calculation Fix |
The Substring calculation function is now working correctly. |
PDF Export Filter Fix |
When exporting a report to PDF with "page break on sorted columns," the filter values will now correctly display on each page according to the data, instead of showing all selected values on every page. |
Webpage Unresponsiveness Fix |
The issue causing the webpage to become unresponsive when an error occurred in the filters has been identified and resolved, ensuring smooth functionality. |
Arabic Text Export Fix |
Previously, Arabic text in titles would not export to PDF from the Desktop application. This issue has now been resolved, and Arabic text will export correctly in tables and headers. Other language issues will be addressed separately. |
OAANTY Field Filter Fix |
Previously, a hidden filter in the SOP - Sales Detail Report template returned only a quantity of 1 for the OAANTY field. This issue is now resolved, and the filter is automatically added. |
Large Budget Backup Fix |
Restoring large budget backups no longer causes Hubble to hang. |
Scheduler Column Retention |
When you add a column in the scheduler to see additional information about a scheduled task, the columns are now retained when you close and re-open. Note that sorting is not retained. |
SDTCST Field Decimal Fix |
Previously, decimal shifting was not correctly applied to the SDTCST field in the Sales Order Detail Template. This issue has now been resolved. If a customer has manually added conditional formatting to work around this bug, it will need to be removed. |
Filter Validation Update |
Previously, filter validation prevented users from manually entering strings, requiring them to use the list of values. Now, items can be manually entered in supported languages, and validation will accept them if they are in the filter list. |
Budgeting Report Performance Fix |
Previously, opening or closing cycles in the budgeting report took over half a minute. This issue has been resolved, and performance has been improved. Now, these actions take seconds instead of minutes. |
